The Mathematical Corporation: Where Machine Intelligence and Human Ingenuity Achieve the Impossible: Josh Sullivan, Angela Zutavern: 9781610397889: Amazon.com: Books
"Shrewd corporate executives are realigning their organizations to harness the burgeoning power of cyberintelligence. However, Josh Sullivan and Angela Zutavern take us a step beyond by introducing The Mathematical Corporation. Leaders of mathematical corporations combine data analytics with the mathematical intelligence of machines and their own creativity to enhance the quality of current and future decisions. A must read for leaders striving to stay contemporary in a rapidly evolving world."―Larry Bossidy, retired chairman and CEO of Honeywell, co-author of Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done and Confronting Reality "In this interesting and accessible book, Sullivan and Zutavern challenge us to reconsider assumptions about machines'taking over,' relegating the human factor to a bygone era. Their hopeful alternative scenario for the future instead clearly shows the importance of leaders and employees who work creatively in symbiosis with machines to achieve greater productivity, better innovation and higher profits."―Amy
Machine Intelligence and Human Ingenuity Can Achieve the Impossible
It is available from PublicAffairs, an imprint of Perseus Books LLC, a subsidiary of Hachette Book Group Inc. Imagine flying over a major city at night -- say, Chicago or Paris or Beijing -- and it is completely dark below. It is just a void of light akin to nighttime in the middle of the ocean. Then imagine someone flips on the power grid, and you see today's web of human activity light up. Imagine further that someone flips the switch again, and you glimpse a future image of the city. Where you once thought there was nothing, there is a universe of action -- both present and future.
Book review: The Mathematical Corporation: Where Machine Intelligence and Human Ingenuity Achieve the Impossible
I heard about The Mathematical Corporation: Where Machine Intelligence and Human ... by Josh Sullivan and Angela Zutavern through a tweet by Kirk Bourne. I conduct a course at Oxford University on Data Science for IoT. I have also recently launched a course on AI for fintech. The Mathematical Corporation covers many issues that I have encountered in my teaching and consulting. In essence, Mathematical Corporation calls for new leadership traits in the world of AI.
